Rockbeare Manor is a charming country house that was built in 1760 for Sir John Duntze, an Exeter woollen merchant and banker. Since it was last purchased by William Nation in 1855, the house has always been a cherished family home, passing from generation to generation.

Idyllic Wedding and Events Venue in Devon

Rockbeare Manor is Devon’s newest, and very beautiful, Country House wedding venue and the most stunning location for all kinds of other occasions including celebration dinners, parties, corporate team building days and charity fundraisers to name but a few. Situated in a secluded spot, just outside of Exeter, this striking Grade I listed manor has been through an extensive but sympathetic renovation process creating a truly outstanding venue, and for the first time it is opening its gates to host special celebrations and events. 

Our majestic Ballroom seats between 50 and 160 guests with glorious views that take you across acres of parkland, the picturesque private lake and the rolling hills of Dartmoor beyond.  Though in a country setting, Rockbeare Manor is easily accessible by road, off the A30 and M5, just a few miles from Exeter Airport. 

If you are looking for an astonishingly elegant Devon wedding venue then you must come to visit Rockbeare Manor.  The house and grounds are yours exclusively for the duration and Civil Ceremonies can take place on the pretty outdoor terrace or in the Manor’s formal Dining Room – a graceful setting with handcrafted ornamental plasterwork, marble pillars and a giant original chandelier.  There are endless opportunities for unique and memorable photographs and our Bridal Drawing Room has a private balcony spanning the front of the house, the perfect place to throw your bouquet!
