Room 1

Located next to the Drawing Room on the first floor, this is one of the principle rooms in the house. It’s incredibly spacious, with luxurious super-king sized bed, feature fireplace and a striking feature wall. The views are magnificent with two large bow front sash windows in the bedroom that look out to Haldon Belvedere, Cawsand Beacon on Dartmoor, and the Cadbury Hills. The steeples of Rockbeare and Broadclyst churches can also be seen, as well as Devon’s largest single-trunk oak tree. Whilst from the twin sinks in the bathroom there are views of the impressive fountain, and South Lawns. The bathroom also features a wet-room style shower and freestanding bath in the centre of the room.

Room 2

With a botanical feel, the soft green and rich red tones create a certain calmness in this south facing, first floor room, and the views from the four sash windows throughout the suite mean that it’s especially light and airy. A dressing area leads through to the large bathroom which has a wet-room style shower and bath, and from the twin sinks you can see the fountain, south lawns and landscape beyond. There is plenty of space in this bedroom for an additional child’s bed or cot if required.

Room 3

This beautifully spacious family suite, sleeping four, was previously known as the ‘Blue John’ room due to the purple-striped stone used in the feature fireplace, a gem which was beloved by the Romans and sought after in the 18th Century. The views from this first floor room are some of the best in the house. The curved bow windows give a panoramic feel with clear views of Dartmoor, the Haldon Hills, and our south lawns fountain in the immediate distance. The private entrance and lobby leads up to a quirky hexagonal shaped bedroom with twin beds, an adjacent double room, and bathroom which has a bath as well as wet-room style shower.

Room 4

When a family home, this room was the principle guest bedroom and it’s clear to see why. It’s in a prominent position on the first floor, and located at the front of the house with clear views up to the Haldon Hills, Dartmoor and the Cadbury Hills. In the more immediate distance you can see the extensive listed parkland at Rockbeare Manor, and the large and very beautiful willow tree which stands at the side of the private lake. There is a free-standing bath in the bedroom which gives the room a lavish feel, as well as rich burgundy feature wall incorporating the original fireplace, and separate shower room. There is plenty of space in this bedroom for an additional child’s bed or cot if required.

Room 5

The focal point of this large room is the freestanding bath in the bedroom, along with an original fireplace. The stylish furnishings and accessories, along with the warm colour palette create a welcoming feel to this first floor bedroom, and the en-suite bathroom is spacious with wet-room style shower and twin sinks. There is plenty of space in this bedroom for an additional child’s bed or cot if required.

Room 6

When a family home, this was the room of the highly esteemed Brigadier Eric Llewellyn Griffith-Williams and his wife Delia Follett, the daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Spencer Follett who inherited Rockbeare Manor in 1914. As it’s on the second floor the views to the south lawns and wider listed parkland are stunning and the en-suite bathroom has a freestanding bath and ornate twin sinks. It has a sophisticated feel and is light and spacious and there is plenty of space in this bedroom for an additional child’s bed or cot if required.

Room 7

This spacious second floor bedroom with pretty vintage style furniture and soft colours, has fantastic views of South Lawns. The impressive fountain can be seen, as well as the wider landscape at Rockbeare Manor which includes trees of many varieties. There is a free-standing bath in the bedroom along with separate wet-room and ornate twin-sinks with another view to the gardens. There is plenty of space in this bedroom for an additional child’s bed or cot if required.

Room 8

This room has a very sophisticated and luxurious feel with beautiful matching furniture, inspired by the French baroque-rococo era. The soft earthy colours, striking feature wall and fireplace, as well as the free-standing bath located in the bedroom give this room a real sense of style. There is a separate en-suite shower-room, and being on the second floor, the views are breathtaking. To the south-west you can see Haldon Belvedere, moving across to Cawsand Beacon on Dartmoor, and the Cadbury Hills. The steeples of Rockbeare and Broadclyst churches can also be seen, as well as Devon’s largest single-trunk oak tree.

Room 9

This spacious family room sleeping four is on the second floor, and is the room which is at the highest point in the house. When a family home, the room was decorated as the children’s ‘tent’ room due to the distinctive arched ceilings, but now it’s a stylish room with rich burgundy feature walls, a double room and adjacent bedroom with twin beds. It’s a room full of quirks, not least because of the floor level sash windows which have stunning views to the west. There is plenty of space in this bedroom for an additional child’s bed or cot if required.

Room 10

At the front of the house, and on the second floor, this room has outstanding views up to the Haldon Hills, Dartmoor and the Cadbury Hills. In the more immediate distance you can see the extensive listed parkland at Rockbeare Manor, and the large and very beautiful willow tree which stands at the side of the private lake. There is a cast iron bath in the bedroom which gives the room a luxurious feel, as well as feature wall, original fireplace, and separate shower room. There is plenty of space in this bedroom for an additional child’s bed or cot if required.

Room 11

The luxurious furnishings and accessories, along with the soft green colour palette create a welcoming feel to this second floor bedroom. There are two beautiful sash windows giving the room an airy feel, as well as a quirky original fireplace. The en-suite bathroom is spacious with bath, wet-room style shower and ornate twin sinks. There is plenty of space in this bedroom for an additional child’s bed or cot if required.

Room 12

Bedroom twelve is our perfectly formed, cosy double priced at £160.

There is a welcoming feel to this luxurious second floor bedroom. It has a soft colour palette and beautiful sash window giving it a light and airy feel, as well as a quirky original fireplace.

North Pavilion

The North Pavilion is a key feature of this Regency built Manor, as it forms a key part of its symmetry when approaching the house from the front. Being on ground floor level, it is ideal as a more accessible bedroom, and the interior has been designed with this in mind. It has a beautiful, shaped, high ceiling and the huge sash window which overlooks the lake and listed parkland at Rockbeare Manor is one of the largest in the house. The bedroom can be set as either a twin room, or double depending on your preference, and the spacious bathroom has both a bath and wet-room style shower.
