Meet the Events Team at Rockbeare Manor

Here at Rockbeare Manor, which is just outside of Exeter in Devon, we love nothing more than organising weddings and events and working with our brides and grooms to create unforgettable moments. This wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful Events Team who are all dedicated to bringing our couples’ visions to life, providing a seamless service and amazing their guests.

The personal touches that make the day unique are very important to us and so our committed Events team take the time to get to know everyone that gets married at Rockbeare Manor.

We felt it was only fair for you to get to know them a little more in return!

Aimée and Andy

Aimee and Andy Rockbeare Manor

Back in 2015, our Directors Andy and Aimée worked together to transform Rockbeare Manor from a beloved family home to a wonderful events and wedding venue.  Rockbeare Manor will always be very special to them and they are very proud of what it has become, but also proud of the team that strive to make sure that the food and service we provide is of an exceptional standard. 

With over 40 years of catering and events experience between them, their passion for events and hospitality shines though.

They both love Cornwall, great food and wine, beach walks and being on the water and they had their own fairytale wedding at Rockbeare Manor in the autumn of 2019. 

 

Davy - Director of Events

Davy Director of Events at Rockbeare Manor

Davy is our Director of Events, he has worked within our company for over 13 years previously working at our sister wedding venues in Somerset - Priston Mill, then Coombe Lodge. Bringing his wealth of experience he works very closely with the events team to ensure that everything is running smoothly.

In his spare time Davy plays Tennis, Squash and Guitar. There is nothing he loves more than seeing a wedding through from the first visit to the special day itself!

Most memorable moment: When the rain cleared and the sun shone just in time for an outdoor ceremony to happen.

Random fact about you: I used to play squash for Wales and once tripped Tim Henman up at Wimbledon!

Top tip:  Don't over complicate the planning, sometimes the simple touches are the nicest. And try not to get too worried about the tiny details, particularly where décor is concerned – simple but striking always works!

 

Helen - Events Office Manager

Helen - Office Manager at Rockbeare Manor

Helen has been part of the company for over 15 years, previously working as an Event Manager at our other venues Priston Mill and Coombe Lodge. Helen is our Events Office Manager and ensures that everything is running smoothly behind the scenes, but she also runs events too. She has many strings to her bow and is definitely one of the most efficient people that we have ever met!!

In her spare time she likes weight lifting, spending time with her family and taking long walks along the beach. What she loves most about her role is showing a couple around our country manor house venue for the first time - there is nothing better than seeing their face light up (or even some happy tears!) as they begin to envisage their special day at our really special wedding venue in Devon. 

Most memorable moment: It has to be my very own Wedding at Rockbeare Manor, what a day! 

Random fact about you: I donated 103 litres of breast milk to the neonatal unit.

Top tip for couples: Consider a Winter Wedding. There is nothing better than the cosy vibes that Rockbeare Manor offers with the warm lit fires, stunning winter outfits and the warming food! 

 

EVENT MANAGERS

Cameron

Event Manager, Cameron

Cameron has been part of the Rockbeare Manor team since 2017 and in that time has achieved a huge amount. As well as working with the events team, he also spent some time working in the Kitchen with our Chef’s so he's a real all-rounder! He is an absolute delight to have as part of the team and he's wonderful with people. He also brings a real sense of fun to the team and works really hard - always with a smile on his face.

He loves being part of someone’s special day and meeting people from different walks of life. In his spare time Cameron likes to go to the gym and spending time with friends and family.

Most memorable moment: Meeting Tom Daley when he attended a Wedding at Rockbeare Manor

Random fact about you: I once bought a coat that cost eight hundred pounds and my mum made me take it back the next day!

Top tip: Create your own playlist for the day. Music is a great way to make things even more personal to you.  

  

 Anna

Anna - Event Manager at Rockbeare Manor wedding venue

Anna is our straight-A student - having achieved 3 A's at A-level in Sociology, Politics and Philosophy and Ethics! 

Anna has worked in front of house hospitality since the age of 15 but joined us at the start of the 2021 season, initially on a part time basis to help us with the busy summer and autumn ahead. It didn't take long for us to see that she had an excellent work ethic and great potential and so she joined us full time shortly after.

She is calm and collected and pays amazing attention to details and having managed many weddings already, she has proven herself as a valued and integral member of the Rockbeare Manor events team. 

Most memorable moment: Managing my first wedding at Rockbeare Manor. The Bride and Groom had a wonderful time and I will always remember their beaming smiles throughout the wedding day. A few days after the wedding I received the most lovely thank you card and felt really proud that I had helped make their wedding perfect in every way.   

Random fact about you: I love making cocktails! My favourites are a Passionfruit Martini and Raspberry Mojito.

Top tip: There are no rules when weddings are concerned - it's about making your wedding personal and ensuring that the day reflects you as a couple. We'll always try our best help make these wishes a reality - the more unique the better!!

  Steph

Event Manager at Rockbeare Manor

Steph has worked within the world of hospitality since she was 14 and hasn't looked back since! After completing her degree in Broadcast Media she spent some time in Dubai where she was an event organiser, creating bespoke events and parties for private clients as well as organising weddings.  On returning to London, Steph worked in some iconic London venues includings the Old Royal Naval College, Tower Bridge and the V&A museum to name just a few.

Steph is outgoing, smiley and really puts each couple at ease with her friendly approach, knowledge and experience. 


Do you have any top tips for couples getting married?

It's lovely having the support of friends and family but try not to be entirely influenced by the opinion of others as it can become really confusing and overwhelming.  Remember the day is about you and your partner, so it's important to have the things that you like, and mean something to you. 

Also, have speeches after the meal. Everyone is always excited to eat when they sit down and in order to guarantee a captive audience, it's best that their tummy's are full!!

Oh, and regret nothing.

What do you love about working in the wedding and hospitality industry?

It's a real privilege being part of such a memorable life-event. Weddings are amazing, they bring families and old friends back together and have such a great vibe. We really get to know each couple too so it makes things even more special on the day. They put their trust in us to host the best day of their life which is a huge responsibility but incredible at the same time. 

I also love being part of a close team that are there to support each other with anything.
