FAQ's

ON THE DAY

Can I get ready at Rockbeare Manor, prior to a Civil Ceremony?

We can ensure that the Bridal Suite, Drawing Room, and Billiard Room are available for the bridal party to get ready from 11.30am. To arrange a wedding day brunch or refreshments please speak to your Event Manager.

Do I need a Master of Ceremonies?

Your Event Manager will happily make announcements for you, such as calling your guests to be seated etc. Alternatively, if you wish for a guest (such as the Best Man) to perform this role, your Event Manager will liaise with that person on the day to ensure that they can relax and enjoy the day too. If you would prefer to book a dedicated 'Red Coat' Master of Ceremonies please do so.

What time does the bar open and close?

The bar is open from the start of your drinks reception through until midnight. The bar is not generally open prior to a Civil Ceremony.

Can taxi's be arranged on the day?

Please advise your guests that taxis must be booked in advance.

Can I have a DJ or Band?

Of course! Music must end by 00.15am. There isn’t a sound limiter in the Ballroom but noise must not be excessive. DJ’s and Bands need to remove their equipment at the end of the night.

Do you have a PA system?

We have a Sonos sound system for background music and we can choose some suitable music to play as background music throughout your event. If you are having a wedding ceremony with us, you will need to download your chosen tracks onto a phone or tablet and your Event Manager will operate that on the day for you. Please ensure that your chosen device has a headphone socket.

Can cars be left overnight?

Yes that is no problem as long as they are collected by 11am the following morning.

Check-in is from 2pm on the day of arrival however we will always try and accommodate an earlier check in for up to 4 bedrooms if required. Please contact your Event Manager or our office to discuss this.

How many bedrooms are there at Rockbeare Manor?

There are 12 individually designed rooms for you to select from for your friends and family, including 1 accessible room located in the North Pavilion on the ground floor, and 2 family rooms (double and two singles). You do not have to book any bedrooms, however if you do, a minimum of 6 rooms applies. Extra beds for children are available at a cost of £10 each and travel cots can be provided free of charge.

How much are the bedrooms at Rockbeare Manor?

The bedrooms are £175 each based on two people sharing and including breakfast. Family rooms are £200 each based on four people sharing. We do offer preferential rates if all 12 rooms are booked.

All presents, decorations and other belongings that you wish to keep, must be taken away with you after breakfast.

DECORATIONS AND SUPPLIERS

What time can suppliers have access to the venue on the event day?

Access to the venue for florists and other such suppliers is from 10.30am on the day of the event. Alternatively, table decorations, table plans, favours etc. can be left with us in the days leading up to the event, by prior arrangement and we will set those up for you on the day.

Can I decorate the tables with petals?

Rose petals on the tables are fine, but please avoid freeze dried or dyed silk petals as they can mark the linen.

Do you allow confetti?

Natural confetti such as rose petals can be thrown both inside and outside, but please avoid gravelled areas. We do not allow confetti cannons.

Can I use candles to decorate the venue?

If you wish to decorate using candles, please ensure that they are in a suitable holder to catch any wax. Please contact our office for advice if you wish to have coloured candles as these can mark table linen.

Please advise us first if you wish to book Fireworks, then contact Firestorm 0800 328 1953 www.firestormfireworks.co.uk. Displays must start no later than 9.45pm. Sparklers are to be used outside only.

We have a round and square silver cake stand and knife that you are welcome to borrow if you wish.

Is linen included?

White linen table cloths and napkins are included in the venue hire fee. Other colours will come at a supplement and will depend on availability.

What chairs will I have for my ceremony and wedding breakfast?

We provide beautiful natural Chiavari chairs for indoor ceremonies and your wedding breakfast. If you are having an outdoor ceremony we will use our alternative white wooden folding chairs which are much more suitable when being placed on the grass. If you are having chair covers the sizes do vary and so please make sure that your décor provider is aware of the chairs that we use at Rockbeare Manor.

FOOD AND DRINK

Can I bring my own food and alcohol?

No food or drink may be brought onto the premises without prior permission. Alcohol is not permitted as a table favour.

Do the menu prices change?

We review the menu pricing annually in line with the rate of inflation. Any increase in food and beverage costs will be confirmed in January of each year and so for budgeting purposes we suggest that you allow an additional 5% per year on top of the brochure price.

Is there a children's menu?

A smaller portion of the adults menu is available for children at 50% of the menu price. Alternatively, we offer a two course menu at £15.95 which may be more suitable for younger children. We would recommend providing children of 11 years and over with the adults menu.
