Our story

Rockbeare Manor is a charming country house that was built in around 1760 for Sir John Duntze, an Exeter woollen merchant and banker. Since it was last purchased by William Nation in 1855 it has passed from generation to generation and has always been a cherished family home.

There is a dream-like quality, style and romance at Rockbeare Manor. Over the last 250 years it has evolved but one thing that has remained at the heart of it - it’s a wonderful place for entertaining. In 2016 the Manor was given a new lease of life, sensitively transformed into a wonderful contemporary venue whilst still retaining the beauty of its past, creating without doubt, a truly outstanding location for special events.

Following on from a renowned reputation at our sister venues in Somerset - Coombe Lodge and Priston Mill - Andrew, Aimée and the team at Rockbeare Manor are delighted to bring our many years of experience, exceptional chefs and own style of professional service to Devon, where we promise to deliver equally memorable and expertly managed occasions.
